Whaaaat?! I’m back!
I say I’m back, but lets see how long this last.
Happy Thanksgiving! I opted out of family activities today and stayed home to have a relaxing four day weekend. My plans until Monday are to do absolutely nothing. (Except the gym!) I am not doing any Black Friday sale nonsense, though I do need to go get some coffee creamer… and I’m freaking dreading it! I hope to crochet a few things and spend the rest of my time playing Final Fantasy.
Work is… work! I am only teaching half a day now and working the office the other half. I miss my kids and being in the class, but if my goal is to run my own daycare eventually, it’s a step I have to take.
I’ve been doing horrible with my diet. I’ve gained a litttttle bit of weight back, so now I’m really trying to focus on eating right again and getting to the gym at least 4 days a week.
It’s time for a nap. I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!

The amount of posts I have in ‘recent drafts’ is pretty hilarious. I’ve sat down to blog soooooooooooooo many times. MUST.FINISH.ONE!

Now that my shop has somewhat expanded to bigger and better things, I needed more space to work! I would usually sit on the sofa or lay in bed to crochet, but I can’t really do that with fabric and a hot glue gun (helloooo burns!)
My desk has been in the bedroom for some time because I had a friend living with me. On top of the desk was my mountain of crafts (okay, I’m lying, they were all over the house!) My friend moved out so I moved the desk back into my second bedroom, bought a little black bookshelf and did some organizing.
I need to find a new desk or invest in fixing this one up. The brown is hideous and you can tell that it is really old. I got it for free though, so I can’t complain. It’s been a good starter desk.
You can never have enough bins and baskets! I love them, especially when you can find different sizes and colors at The Dollar Store. I actually snagged a few of those for 50 cents at Wal-Mart. My yarn is overflowing, so I need to find another big bin. I got the one I have from Target after Christmas last year, so I’m sure they’re not there anymore.
Old wreaths are also perfect wall decoration, haha.
This is where I do my hot gluing, haha. I have been on the lookout for a cute table on Craigslist, so these stands will do for now. Hey, it gets the job done!

Since school is starting up this month I knew everyone at work would be decorating accordingly. I wanted to do something a little different instead of the usual pencils, crayons, apples, school houses and buses. When I think about school, I think about books (go figure!) and one of my all time favorite books growing up was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Then a vision came~ haha.
I had fun making the kids into caterpillars and they absolutely love seeing them on the door!

A few of the girls at work were requesting these. I found some youtube videos and after a few tries, I finally mastered them!
What you need;
Fabric of your choice, I buy the precut ones from Michaels.
Hot glue gun
Clip of your choice
Length should be around 10 inches (but you can make it whatever size you want! This is just the size I do for my shop.)
Height will be around 8 inches. Leave a piece to the side so you have some fabric to wrap around the bow at the end.
You want to fold the fabric hot dog style.
Lift one up and put A LITTLE of hot glue, do to the other side as well.
(USE VERY LITTLE HOT GLUE, you do not want to use a lot and make it hard to squish up at the end)
Then fold hamburger style and hot glue those down.
You want it to where there are 3 creases in the front. Play around with it until it looks the best.
Hot glue the back a little so the pieces are secure and don’t come undone when you let go.
Wrap that little piece of fabric you kept from earlier in the middle, hot glue on the sides of the bow so it doesn’t move. Then hot glue your clip on-

Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I was born and (mostly) raised in Louisiana. When my mother passed away in 2003, I moved to Florida and have been here since, minus the 6 months I lived in New York. I would love to go back to New Orleans more often, but work and money always seem to get in the way.
In 2011, my friends and I came across this “Good Times Tour” deal, a day trip in New Orleans. Basically you pay a small fee and a Greyhound type bus brings you to and from New Orleans, usually on days where there are festivals. The great thing about this is, you get to drink in New Orleans and not have to worry about sobering up enough to drive home, haha. Anyway, after doing it in 2011 and having a blast, my bestie and I decided to do it again last weekend. I haven’t seen my step dad in about 7 years, so I asked him to meet us for lunch.
We got there a little before noon and walked in circles for a little bit looking for the Hard Rock Cafe. We had to stop in a bathroom to charge our shitty iPhone batteries, that was interesting.
Found Hard Rock and waited a bit for my Dad to get there. I had a yummy pulled bbq chicken sandwich. It was somewhat like heaven.
We wanted beignets, but Cafe Du Monde was so packed that there weren’t any seats, so we made friends with one of the silver men. My Dad had to go back to work so the bestie and I did some shopping, got more daiquiris and before we left we stopped at Bubba Gump’s for po’boys and fries. One of the many many things I miss about New Orleans!
We made a quick stop to Lush before the bus departed at 6. It was a good day. I really miss my Dad, even if being around him reminds me of my Mom. I am so, so lucky to have such a great man be apart of my life, especially when he doesn’t have to be.

I think my problem with blogging here is that I made it more about work and weight loss and less about me and my personal life. Some days I want to talk about other things! I took the website down for a few days and thought about starting over somewhere else, which is still an option, but I could just stay here and change things up. I suck at having a blog, but when I give it up, I miss it. #firstworldproblems
I’m not sure what I’ll do, but for now I’ll just change the layout and hope that motivates me to stay :P

I really need to start holding myself more accountable! I’ve been stuck with thinking “I’ve already lost 60 pounds, eating this won’t hurt…” BUT IT DOES. I have come too far to start slipping up and gaining back weight. MUST get back on track!
What do you do to keep yourself motivated?
